Expressive Movements

About Our Dance Instructors

~ Sheri LoPinto ~
Sheri has been dancing since 1986, and her award winning style has earned many trophies. She was invited to become a member of her studio’s competition team when she was 10 years old. At age 11, Sheri choreographed a solo routine that took first place against teacher choreographed routines. She became a teacher's assistant at age 12 and taught classes until she graduated. Sheri continued taking classes and even had a few other teaching jobs before opening Expressive Movements in 2014. Having the opportunity to share her love of dance with her studio family is truly a dream come true!!

~ Hallie Bortz ~
Hallie has been dancing at Expressive Movements since its first year. She joined the competition team in 2017 as well as becoming a dance helper the same year. At age 17, she began to teach classes and continues to teach today. At age 20, she began teaching competition dances and, that same year, received a “Young Choreographer’s Award” at Spirit of Dance for one of her dances. Hallie has recently graduated with her BA in Political Science with a minor in German Language Studies.

~ Katie Flower ~
Katie has been dancing since the age of two and is excited to share her love of dance with all of her students here at EMDS. She became a competitive dancer at the age of 10. In 2018, she began sharing her love of dance as a helper and has been teaching and choreographing since 2021. Currently, she is pursuing an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education at Lehigh Carbon Community College with a plan to pursue dance education in the future.
